In Flander's Fields comes from a poem written in 1915 by Lieutenant Colonel John MacCrae, a surgeon in the Canadian Army during the Second Battle of Ypres (Belgium) during WW I. It is a somber tune, with the lyrics written as if from dead soldiers to living ones. Played on mountain dulcimer.
